MCP.Pizza Chef: Azure-Samples

Microsoft publishes this as a working demonstration rather than a product you install. It is a travel-agency chat app in which separate helpers pick apart a customer's request, suggest destinations, and build an itinerary, each drawing on its own MCP tools written in Python, Node, Java, and .NET. You run the whole thing yourself with Docker or a browser-based Codespace. Local preview is free; putting it on Azure costs money. Still updated as of August 2026.

azure-ai-travel-agents FAQ

Is this still maintained?
Yes. Microsoft was still updating it in August 2026.
Can I add this to Claude or Cursor?
No. It is a complete sample application you run yourself, not a tool you plug into a chat app.
Does it cost anything?
The local preview is designed to run free on your own machine. Deploying it to Azure brings cloud charges.
Can I use this to learn how MCP fits into a real application?
Yes, that is its entire purpose, and it includes tool examples in Python, Node, Java, and .NET.
How hard is setup?
Hands-on. You need Docker or a GitHub Codespace, plus Node 22 or newer.
Is it meant for real customers?
No. Treat it as a reference you learn from and adapt, not a finished travel product.
