MCP.Pizza Chef: feiskyer

A free Visual Studio Code extension that puts a chat panel beside your editor, wired to whichever model provider you pay for: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Ollama and roughly a dozen others. You can attach files and images to a question, save prompts you reuse, and add Model Context Protocol servers so the chat reaches outside tools. Despite the name it comes from neither OpenAI nor GitHub, and a ChatGPT subscription does not cover it — you need a separate account with credit.

chatgpt-copilot FAQ

Does my ChatGPT subscription work with this?
No. Model access is billed separately, so you need an account with credit at OpenAI or another provider before it will answer anything.
Is it made by OpenAI or GitHub?
No, despite the name. It is an independent open-source extension with no connection to GitHub Copilot or to OpenAI.
Can I use this to add my own tools to the chat?
Yes. It connects to Model Context Protocol servers three different ways, and each one can be switched on or off from a settings panel.
Can I avoid paying a provider at all?
Yes, if you run a local model through Ollama, or sign in through GitHub Copilot, which it also supports as a provider.
How hard is setup?
Easy. Install it from the Visual Studio Code marketplace, reload the editor, and paste your provider key into its settings screen.
Does it collect usage data?
The project says it collects none. Your questions still travel to whichever model provider you have configured.
Is it still maintained?
Yes. The code was updated in June 2026 and releases have been regular.
