Amadeus

MCP.Pizza Chef: CurryTang

Amadeus is a personal research library you run on your own machine. Save a paper from arXiv, OpenReview, or any PDF page with one click from its browser button, and it reads the paper in several passes and writes structured notes with diagrams and equations. It follows authors, keywords, and feeds for new work, searches everything you have saved, exports notes into Obsidian, and can hand the whole library to Claude Code as a connected tool.

Amadeus FAQ

Where does this run?
On your own computer or a server you control, with the papers stored in your own file storage rather than someone else's cloud.
Do I need a key?
Yes, you bring your own AI access — Codex CLI by default, or Gemini CLI, the Google Gemini service, or Claude Code.
Can I use this to summarize a paper I just found?
Yes — save it with the browser button and it produces a multi-pass summary covering methods, results, and the underlying math.
How hard is the setup?
Involved. You download the project, run its installer, and start a local file store. An interactive script walks through the choices.
Which apps can reach my library?
A Chrome extension for saving, a VS Code companion for browsing, and Claude Code or other agents through its connected-tool mode.
What do I need installed first?
Node 20 or newer, plus MinIO or another compatible file store for the PDFs. Obsidian is optional, for exporting notes.
