MCP.Pizza Chef: coollabsio

Jean is a native desktop application that brings together your AI coding assistants — including Claude, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, and several others — so you can manage multiple software projects, chat sessions, and file versions in one place. It connects with GitHub and Linear for tracking issues and pull requests, and includes a built-in command line and file viewer. Everything runs on your own computer using your own installed tools and accounts, and setup requires some technical familiarity.

jean FAQ

Which AI coding assistants does this work with?
Jean works with several AI coding assistants, including Claude, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, and others, as well as chat models like Grok and Kimi. You can switch between them within the same project.
Do I need an account or an api key to use Jean?
Yes. Jean itself does not provide the AI — you need your own working installation and account for whichever assistants you plan to use, such as Claude or Codex, since Jean simply gives you one place to use them.
How difficult is it to set up?
Setup takes some technical comfort. You can download a ready-to-use version for Mac, Windows, or Linux, or install it with Homebrew on a Mac, but you will also need the AI coding tools you want to use, such as Claude or Codex, already installed and signed in on your computer.
Can I use this to manage more than one coding project at a time?
Yes — Jean is designed around working across multiple projects at once, with each project keeping its own chat history, files, and settings.
Can I use this to review an AI's code changes before accepting them?
Yes. Jean shows a side-by-side comparison of any changes an assistant proposes, so you can look them over and approve or reject them before they are saved.
Does Jean send my code or conversations to its own servers?
No. Jean runs entirely on your own computer and connects only to the AI tools and accounts you already use, so your files and chats stay local.
Can I use Jean from my phone or another computer?
Yes. Jean has a Web Access feature that lets you open the same app in a browser on another device on your network, such as a phone or a laptop.
Which computers does Jean run on?
Jean is built for Mac, Windows, and Linux. Mac is the most thoroughly tested, Windows works but is not yet fully tested, and Linux is supported and tested by the community.
