MCP.Pizza Chef: ai4s-research

This desktop app runs an entire research project end to end: exploring a topic, reviewing existing studies, testing an idea, writing analysis code, generating charts, and drafting a final report, all in one continuous session on your own computer. Every chart or table links back to the exact code and data that created it, so you can double-check any result. It works with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and other AI models, runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux, and needs an account key from whichever AI provider you choose to use.

open-science FAQ

Can I use this to write a research paper from scratch?
Yes — it can explore a topic, survey existing studies, run experiments, and draft a full report with citations, all in one session.
Can I use this to check my citations before I submit a paper?
Yes — it can review a draft report, confirm that citation links resolve, and flag any numbers or figures that don't match your data.
Do I need an account key to use it?
Yes — the app doesn't include its own built-in model, so you'll need an account key from whichever AI provider you choose, such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini.
Is this easy to set up if I'm not a developer?
Not really — right now it needs to be built from source code, so it's best suited to someone comfortable with developer tools.
Does my data leave my computer?
No — your files, notebooks, and research history stay on your own machine by default, and nothing uploads unless you turn on remote access yourself.
Can I check on a research run from my phone?
Yes — you can turn on a secure remote link that lets you start a run at your desk and check the finished result from your phone or another device.
Does it work on Windows and Mac, or just one?
It works on macOS, Windows, and Linux.
Can it use the web browser I already have set up?
Yes — it can drive your own Chrome browser, logins included, to read live web pages, or use a separate private browser if you'd rather it not.
