Do I need an account key?
Yes — an Alibaba Cloud access key ID and secret, held in your settings file. They give the assistant the same power over your account that you have, and anything it creates is billed to you.
Can it delete things?
Yes, and this is the biggest risk. Deleting servers and deleting storage buckets both run straight away with no confirmation prompt, as do resetting a machine's password and replacing its operating system.
Is there a read-only mode?
Not out of the box. There is a whitelist setting that lets you list exactly which actions to switch on, so if you only want to look at things, list only the viewing and monitoring ones and leave the rest off.
Does it touch my own computer as well as the cloud?
Yes. Alongside the cloud actions it can list your local folders and run any shell command on your machine, with no sandbox and no approval step. That is more reach than most people expect from a cloud tool.
Which apps does it work in?
Cursor, VS Code with Cline, Claude Desktop and other apps that read a small settings snippet. You paste in a short block of settings and restart the app.
Can I use this to see what a server is costing me?
Not by default. Billing is one of the extra services you can switch on with a startup setting, but the out-of-the-box set covers machines, databases, networks, storage and monitoring only.
How hard is setup?
Moderate. You install the uv tool once, then paste a settings block containing your two keys. No building or coding is needed.
