XcodeBuildMCP

MCP.Pizza Chef: getsentry

Your assistant can build an iOS or Mac app itself, read whatever the compiler complained about, fix it, and build again — without you relaying anything by hand. It can also start a simulator, install the app, launch it, watch the logs as it runs, take screenshots, and tap around the interface. Works with Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, and Windsurf. You need a Mac running macOS 14.5 or later with Xcode 16 installed.

Overview

This project implements an MCP server that exposes Xcode operations as tools that can be invoked by AI agents via the MCP protocol. It enables programmatic interaction with Xcode projects through a standardised interface, optimised for agent-driven development workflows.

XcodeBuildMCP FAQ

Do I need a Mac?
Yes — macOS 14.5 or later, with Xcode 16 or later installed.
Which apps does this work in?
Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, and Windsurf, plus other assistants that speak MCP.
Can I use this to fix a build error without opening Xcode?
Yes — the assistant builds the project, reads the errors, edits the code, and builds again.
How hard is setup?
You install the mise tool, then paste a short snippet into your assistant's settings. VS Code also has a one-click install button.
Can it interact with the app once it is running?
Yes — tapping, swiping, and screenshots are supported on the simulator, though those features are marked beta.
Does it send any data anywhere?
Usage and error reporting goes to Sentry by default, and the project documents how to turn that off.
