superset-mcp

MCP.Pizza Chef: aptro

Sixty tools reach into a Superset installation you already run: listing and opening dashboards and charts, creating new ones, running and tidying SQL, and inspecting the databases behind it all. Several tools delete things outright, including whole dashboards, charts, and database connections. Sign-in is your Superset username and password kept in a local file rather than a key, and the sign-in token it receives is written to disk in plain form. You need a Superset of your own, and the project has been quiet for about a year.

superset-mcp FAQ

Do I need a key or token?
No key. You put your Superset web address, username, and password into a small file, and it signs in on your behalf.
Can it delete my dashboards?
Yes. Deleting dashboards, charts, and even whole database connections are all among its tools, so give it an account with limited rights.
Do I need my own Superset already running?
Yes. It talks to a Superset you host. The instructions include a way to start one locally with Docker if you just want to try it.
Can I use this to answer a question from company data?
Yes. It can run a query against any database Superset is connected to and hand the results back for summarizing.
How hard is the setup?
This is a technical one. Expect Docker, a cloned project folder, and command-line installs before anything works.
Is it still maintained?
The last change was around a year ago. Nothing has been marked as retired, but it is not moving either.
Is my password kept safely?
It sits in a plain file beside the project, and the sign-in token it receives is written to disk unscrambled, so use a low-privilege account.
