mysql_mcp_server_pro

MCP.Pizza Chef: wenb1n-dev

Built for MySQL, this one answers questions about your tables in plain English, finds a table when you only remember what it stores, explains why a slow lookup is slow, and reports on locks, connections and indexes nobody uses. Out of the box it is limited to reading; changing or deleting rows requires deliberately switching it to a higher permission level. You supply the database address and login, and you need a MySQL server you can already reach. The last code change was August 2025.

mysql_mcp_server_pro FAQ

Is this still being maintained?
There have been no code changes since August 2025. The project is not shut down and still installs, but nothing new has landed in roughly a year.
Can it delete or overwrite my data?
Not unless you let it. It starts in a read-only mode, and writing or deleting only becomes possible if you deliberately raise its permission level in the settings.
Do I need a paid key?
No. You do need a MySQL database you can already reach plus its login details, which you paste into the setup block.
Can I use this to answer a question about my own records?
Yes — ask in plain language, and it works out which tables to look at and reports the answer back.
Which apps does it work in?
Cline, Cursor and Trae are named in the instructions, and it works with other apps that accept a standard MCP setup snippet.
How hard is setup?
This one is for technical users. You need Python, a running MySQL server, and database credentials before anything works.
Is it safe to point at a live business database?
Keep the default read-only mode and give it a login that can only see what it needs. That combination limits the damage a mistaken instruction can do.
Is the documentation in English?
Yes, an English readme sits alongside the Chinese original.
