MCP.Pizza Chef: BochaAI

Two tools ship here: an ordinary web search, and an AI search that also returns ready-made info cards for weather, stock prices, exchange rates, train times, calendars, and health topics. Results arrive as a title, link, summary, date, and site name. Despite what the documentation promises, site icons and image links are not included, because the code drops them. You need a Bocha account with paid credit on it, and both the sign-up page and the documentation are entirely in Chinese. The code has not changed since April 2025.

Unmaintained · no code changes since April 2025

bocha-search-mcp FAQ

Is it free, or do I need to pay?
You need a key from Bocha's open platform and it is a paid service, billed against a balance you top up. Without a key both tools just return an error message.
Do I need to read Chinese?
It helps. The sign-up page and all the documentation are Chinese-only, and results lean heavily toward Chinese-language sites, though your assistant can translate what comes back.
Can I use this to check the weather or a share price?
Yes — the AI search tool returns a small info card for weather, stocks, exchange rates, fuel prices, train times and dozens of similar topics, alongside the normal web results.
Does it return images?
No, even though the documentation advertises image links and site icons. The code passes through only the text fields and skips image results entirely.
Can it change anything on my computer or my accounts?
No. Both tools only run searches and hand back text, so there is nothing for it to write, send, or delete.
Which apps does it work in?
Claude Desktop and Cursor have documented setup, and it runs in any MCP app that can launch a local command.
How hard is it to set up?
The instructions have you download the project folder first, then paste a config block containing your key. Only one release, version 0.0.1, has ever been published.
