Burrow

MCP.Pizza Chef: caezium

This free, open-source app for Mac watches your computer's health in the background and lets you ask an AI assistant — such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or Cline — to look after it for you. It can find junk files and old app leftovers, spot duplicate files, show exactly what is taking up space on your disk, and safely run routine maintenance. Every cleanup step needs your approval first, and nothing it does is permanent without your say-so. No account or key is required — it runs entirely on your own Mac.

README

Burrow is an independent open-source project. It bundles its own MIT engine — burrow-engine, a fork of the Mole (mo) CLI by tw93 — and is not affiliated with or endorsed by mole.fit (the official Mole for Mac app by mo's author); its own name, mark, palette, and copy are original.

If you like Mole and want to fund mo's development — buy mole.fit ($19).

Burrow FAQ

Can I use this to find out what's filling up my Mac's storage?
Yes — Burrow scans your whole disk and shows a visual map of exactly which files and folders are taking up the most space, so you or your AI assistant can decide what to clear out.
Can I use this to have my AI assistant clean up my Mac for me?
Yes — once connected, your AI assistant (such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or Cline) can check your Mac's status, spot problems like low disk space, and run a cleanup, though every action still needs your approval first.
Do I need to create an account or get an API key?
No. Burrow runs entirely on your own Mac and does not require signing up for anything or entering an API key to use its cleanup and monitoring features.
Which AI apps can connect to Burrow?
Burrow's built-in connection works with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and Cline, as well as local models running through apps like LM Studio.
Is it hard to set up?
Installing the app itself is a single quick step on a Mac, but connecting an AI assistant to it involves a bit of technical configuration, so it suits someone comfortable following setup instructions.
Will it delete files without asking me first?
No. Every cleanup or maintenance action, whether you start it yourself or your AI assistant suggests it, needs your approval before anything happens, and the app keeps a log of what it did.
Does it work on Windows?
A preview version for Windows is available, though the app was built primarily for Mac and its most complete set of features lives there.
Can I use this to track my Mac's performance over time?
Yes — Burrow keeps months of history on things like memory, disk, and battery use, so you can look back and see how your Mac's health has changed.
