Everything you have saved in WeChat Reading, from the books on your shelf to the passages you underlined, your own notes, and the reviews other readers wrote, becomes available inside Claude Desktop or Cursor. You can search the shelf by keyword and pull notes back grouped by chapter. Signing in works through a cookie copied from the website, or through the CookieCloud add-on if you would rather not refresh it by hand. Documentation is in Chinese, and the code has not changed since May 2025.

Which apps does it work with?
Claude Desktop and Cursor are documented, and any other app that speaks MCP can use it too.
Do I need a key?
No key, but you do need to be signed in to WeChat Reading and supply the cookie from your browser.
My connection stops working after a while. Why?
WeChat Reading cookies expire. The project supports the CookieCloud browser add-on so the cookie refreshes on its own.
Can I use this to turn my highlights into study notes?
Yes. Notes and underlines come back grouped by chapter, which is exactly the shape a summary needs.
Is it in English?
No. The instructions and examples are written in Chinese, and it only covers WeChat Reading, a Chinese reading app.
Is it still being updated?
It has been quiet since May 2025. It is a fork of ChenyqThu's original project, which may be the better starting point.
How hard is the setup?
You paste a short block into your app's settings and add your login cookie. No building or coding required.
