MCP.Pizza Chef: hi-godot

This lets your AI assistant work inside a live Godot game project — creating scenes, adding and wiring up game objects, writing code, setting up animations and visual effects, and building full user interfaces, all without you touching the editor by hand. It runs alongside Godot 4.5 or newer and connects to apps like Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, and Windsurf. Setup involves installing a small helper tool and a Godot plugin — no account or paid key is required.

Connect MCP clients directly to a live Godot editor via the Model Context Protocol. Over 120 ops across ~43 MCP tools (full list) let AI assistants (Claude Code, Codex, Grok Build, Antigravity, Hermes Agent, etc.) build scenes, edit nodes and scripts, wire signals, and configure UI, materials, animations, particles, cameras, and environments.

🎉 Now on the Godot Asset Library and the new Godot Asset Store — one-click install from Godot's AssetLib tab. You'll still need uv for the Python server (see Quick Start).

godot-ai FAQ

Which AI apps can I use this with?
It works with many popular AI assistant apps, including Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Cline, and Windsurf.
Do I need an account or a paid key to use this?
No. There is no account or paid key required — it is free to install and use.
Can I use this to build a game scene without writing any code myself?
Yes — you can describe what you want, like a camera, a character, or a piece of furniture, and your AI assistant will create and wire it up inside the Godot editor for you.
Can I use this to add animations or visual effects to my game?
Yes — your assistant can set up animations, particle effects, cameras, and lighting for a scene based on your instructions.
How hard is it to set up?
It takes a few steps: install a small helper tool called uv, add a plugin to your Godot project, and turn the plugin on inside Godot's settings. It is not a one-click install, so expect to spend a few minutes following the setup guide.
Do I need to know how to code to use this?
No coding knowledge is required to describe what you want built, though the installation step does involve running a couple of commands in a terminal.
Does this work with AI assistants other than Claude?
Yes — it works with assistants built on Claude, but also with tools that use OpenAI and Gemini models, since it connects through the open Model Context Protocol rather than being tied to one provider.
Will this let my AI assistant see and change my actual game project?
Yes — once connected, it can view your scene layout and make real changes to it, so it is worth trying on a project you don't mind experimenting with, or one backed up with version control.
