MCP.Pizza Chef: vladimir-tutin

Fifty-five tools cover a lot of ground: searching your collection, building and sharing playlists, making collections, editing titles and artwork, seeing who is watching what, and running server chores. That reach cuts both ways. Media, playlists and collections can all be deleted, immediately, with no confirmation step and no look-but-do-not-touch mode anywhere in the code. You supply your Plex address and your Plex access token, which amounts to full control of the server. There is no licence file, so workplace use is unclear.

Features

  • Standardized API: Unified JSON responses for all Plex operations.
  • Multiple Transports: Supports both stdio and SSE (Server-Sent Events).
  • Comprehensive Control: Manage libraries, media, collections, playlists, clients, and users.
  • Remote Ready: Built-in OAuth 2.1 support for integration with remote AI platforms like Claude.ai.
  • Admin Tools: Access logs, monitor bandwidth, and run Butler tasks.

plex-mcp-server FAQ

Do I need a key?
You need your Plex server address and your Plex access token. That token is not a limited key, it is full control of your Plex server, so keep it private.
Can it delete things?
Yes, and this is the part to be careful about. Media, playlists and collections can all be removed with no confirmation and no undo. If a title matches exactly one item, it goes immediately.
Is there a look-but-do-not-touch mode?
No. There is no read-only setting and no practice run anywhere in the code, so an assistant that misreads your request can make real, permanent changes.
Can I use this to tidy up my film collection?
Yes. Searching, correcting titles and summaries, swapping posters and grouping films into collections all work well.
Which apps does it work in?
Claude Desktop through a small settings snippet, and Claude.ai as a remote connector if you host it yourself.
Is it safe to host for remote access?
Only if you set it up carefully. The sign-in layer is genuinely wired in but switched off unless you turn it on, and the remote mode listens on every network connection by default. Left as-is, anyone who can reach it controls your Plex server.
Can I use it at work?
Unclear. The project ships no licence file, which by default means all rights reserved, so commercial use and redistribution are not granted.
How many tools does it add?
Fifty-five, spread across libraries, media, playlists, collections, users, playback devices, live sessions and server admin.
Is it still being maintained?
Yes, reasonably. The last code change was in early 2026.
How hard is setup?
Moderate for use on your own machine: paste a snippet with your server address and token. Hosting it for remote access is a developer job.
