MCP.Pizza Chef: nim-lang

nimlangserver is the language server for the Nim programming language. Editors use it for the usual jump-to-definition, autocomplete, and error checking, and it can also run in MCP mode so coding agents such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Gemini look the same answers up instead of guessing. Installation is a single nimble command, there is no account or key involved, and it needs nimble 0.16.1 or newer plus a nimsuggest from Nim 1.6 or later.

langserver FAQ

Which coding agents does the MCP mode target?
The project names GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Gemini as the AI agents it serves.
Do I need an account or key?
No. It runs locally on your own machine with nothing to sign up for.
Can I use this to get better Nim autocomplete in my editor?
Yes — that is its original job as a standard language server.
What do I need installed first?
Nimble 0.16.1 or newer and a nimsuggest that supports Nim 1.6 or newer.
How do I install it?
One command: nimble install -g nimlangserver.
Is it useful if I do not write Nim?
No. It only understands the Nim language.
