MCP.Pizza Chef: cap-js

Questions like which services exist, where they are served, what an entity holds, and how two entities relate get answered from your actual project rather than from guesswork, because it reads the compiled model instead of skimming files. It also searches the official SAP CAP documentation locally, matching on meaning rather than exact wording, so a how-do-I question lands on the right page. Setup is one pasted block in VS Code, Cline, Claude Code, or opencode, with no key needed.

About This Project

A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP). Use it for AI-assisted development of CAP applications (agentic coding).

The server helps AI models answer questions such as:

  • Which CDS services are in this project, and where are they served?
  • What are the entities about and how do they relate?
  • How do I add columns to a select statement in CAP Node.js?

mcp-server FAQ

Which apps does it work in?
VS Code with Copilot, Cline, Claude Code, opencode, and other assistants that can start a local MCP server.
Do I need an account key?
No. It reads your project and a bundled copy of the documentation, all on your own machine.
How hard is setup?
One pasted block that runs it through npx. There is nothing to install beforehand.
Can I use this to answer questions about my own project?
Yes, that is the whole point. Answers come from your project's compiled model, so they reflect your code and not a generic example.
Does the documentation search need an internet connection?
No. The documentation is searched on your own machine, matching on meaning rather than exact keywords.
Is this useful outside SAP CAP work?
No. It is built around the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model and only understands those projects.
