MCP.Pizza Chef: bgauryy

This tool lets your AI assistant search your own project files and public or private GitHub repositories side by side, then hand back short, precise answers with exact file and line references instead of pasting whole files into the conversation. It works inside apps like Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, and Goose, and can also run as a stand-alone command you type into a terminal. Connecting a free GitHub account unlocks private repositories and removes search limits, but you can start using it right away without one.

octocode FAQ

Do I need a GitHub account to use this?
No — you can search your own local files without one, but connecting a free GitHub account unlocks private repositories and removes search limits.
Which apps can I use this with?
It works inside Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, and Goose, and it also runs as a stand-alone command-line tool from a terminal.
Can I use this to research how another project solved a problem?
Yes — point it at any public GitHub repository and it will search the code and file history for you and bring back the relevant pieces.
Can I use this to search my own project without going through GitHub?
Yes — it can search and read files straight from your computer, so nothing needs to be uploaded or shared.
Is my code shared with anyone when I use this?
The tool scans results and removes anything that looks like a password or secret key before handing them back, and local searches never leave your computer.
How hard is it to set up?
Most supported apps offer a one-click install; for others, you paste a short snippet into a settings file, which takes a couple of minutes and no coding.
Does this work with Claude, ChatGPT, or other AI assistants?
Yes — it is built to plug into AI assistants inside apps such as Cursor and Claude Code, and it works with assistants powered by Claude, OpenAI's models, or Google's Gemini.
