MCP.Pizza Chef: VictoriaMetrics
VictoriaMetrics is a store for the numbers your systems produce over time: request counts, error rates, memory use. This add-on gives your assistant roughly thirty read-only tools for that store, so it can run a query, list metrics and labels, inspect alerting rules, find the slowest queries, and search VictoriaMetrics' own documentation offline. Nothing it does can change your data, your rules or your settings. You point it at the address of your own VictoriaMetrics installation, and six of the tools ship switched off until you turn them on.

mcp-victoriametrics FAQ
Do I need an API key?
Usually not. The one required setting is the web address of your own VictoriaMetrics installation. A key is only needed if you are on the paid VictoriaMetrics Cloud, and a token only if your own instance is password-protected.
Can it change or delete my monitoring data?
No. Every tool it offers is marked read-only in the code, and none of them write, edit or delete anything. It reads and explains, nothing more.
Can I try it without installing anything?
Yes. The makers run a public demo connection at https://play-mcp.victoriametrics.com/mcp that is wired to their own sample data, so you can see how it behaves before setting up your own.
Which apps does it work in?
The instructions cover Claude Desktop, Claude.ai, Cursor, VS Code and Windsurf, and it works with anything else that speaks the same protocol.
Can I use this to investigate a slowdown?
Yes. You can ask it to compare a time window against a normal one, list what was firing, and show which queries were eating the most time.
Are all the tools switched on by default?
No. Six of them, including data export and the relabelling, retention and downsampling debuggers, are turned off unless you explicitly enable them.
How hard is setup?
This one is for someone comfortable with servers. You install a binary, a Docker image or a Helm chart, then set a couple of environment values before your assistant can use it.
Is it still maintained?
Yes. It is published by the VictoriaMetrics team itself and had code changes within the last month.
