MCP.Pizza Chef: biegehydra

This VS Code extension hands the editor's own understanding of your code over to your assistant: find every place a symbol is used, jump to a definition or implementation, outline a file, trace call and type hierarchies, and search symbols across a whole project. Nineteen tools ship, and all but one are read-only — renaming a symbol is the single change it can make. It plugs into Cursor, Cline, and Roo Code by pointing them at a local address. Free, with no account or key needed.

BifrostMCP FAQ

Which apps does it work in?
Cursor, Cline, Roo Code, and other assistants that let you point at a local address. VS Code has to be open with your project loaded, since the answers come from the editor itself.
Do I need a key or a paid account?
No. It is a free extension from the VS Code marketplace and does not call any outside service.
Can I use this to rename something across my whole project safely?
Yes — one of the tools performs a real rename using the editor's own logic, so it catches the same places VS Code would.
Will it change my files?
Rarely. Eighteen of the nineteen tools only look things up; only the rename tool edits code.
Does it work with my programming language?
It borrows whatever VS Code already knows, so install the usual language extension first — the C# extension for C# files, for example — and it works for that language too.
Can I use it on more than one project at a time?
Yes. Each project can carry a small settings file naming its own port, so several VS Code windows can run side by side.
How hard is setup?
Install the extension, then paste a two-line address into your assistant's settings. No building or command line needed.
