MCP.Pizza Chef: its-dart

Retired by its makers in favour of a hosted Dart server that needs nothing installed. What remains covers sixteen actions, four more than the notes admit to, across tasks and documents: listing and filtering, creating, reading, updating, commenting, and moving items to the trash, plus lookups for boards, folders, and saved views. Deleting only sends things to the trash, so nothing is lost for good. You need a Dart account and paste its token into your settings file.

Setup

The easiest way to run the MCP server is with npx, but a Docker setup is also available.

Find the MCP settings file for the client

Claude Desktop
  1. Install Claude Desktop as needed
  2. Open the config file by opening the Claude Desktop app, going into its Settings, opening the 'Developer' tab, and clicking the 'Edit Config' button
  3. Follow the 'Set up the MCP server' steps below
Claude Code
  1. Install Claude Code as needed

  2. Copy your authentication token from your Dart profile

  3. Run the following command, being sure to replace dsa... with your actual Dart token

dart-mcp-server FAQ

Should I install this one?
Probably not. The makers have retired it and point everyone to their hosted Dart server instead, which is set up from their help centre and needs nothing installed on your own machine.
Do I need an account or a token?
Yes. You need a Dart account, and you copy a token from your profile page into your settings file, where it sits in readable text alongside everything else.
Can I use this to turn meeting notes into tasks?
Yes. Describe what came out of the meeting and it can create each task with a title, description, owner, priority, dates, and the board it belongs on.
Can it delete my work for good?
No. Both delete actions move the item to the trash, which you can recover from inside Dart itself.
Which apps does it work in?
Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, and Windsurf are all documented, and the same short settings block works in most other apps.
Is everything it can do written down?
Not quite. Sixteen actions are built in but only twelve appear in the notes. Listing a task's comments and looking up boards, folders, and saved views are all there but undocumented.
How hard is setup?
Straightforward. Paste a short block into your app's settings file with your token in it. A Docker option exists but you have to build the image yourself first.
Is it still being worked on?
The repository still sees occasional changes, but the makers say new work goes into the hosted server rather than this one.
