MCP.Pizza Chef: microsoft

This tool connects your AI assistant to your organization's Microsoft 365 account, so it can look up recent emails, check your calendar, find documents you have been working on, and pull up recent Teams conversations, all by answering a plain question. It works inside GitHub Copilot and VS Code, and because it reaches real company data, your IT administrator needs to approve access once before anyone in the organization can use it. After that one-time approval, no extra sign-in steps are required.

Microsoft Work IQ — Plugin Marketplace

The official Microsoft Work IQ plugin collection for GitHub Copilot ✨

Extend the power of GitHub Copilot with Work IQ plugins — MCP servers, skills, and tools that connect AI assistants to your Microsoft 365 data.

⚠️ Public Preview: Features and APIs may change.

To access Microsoft 365 tenant data, the WorkIQ CLI and MCP Server need to be consented to permissions that require administrative rights on the tenant. On first access, a consent dialog appears. If you are not an administrator, contact your tenant administrator to grant access.

For Tenant Administrators: See the Tenant Administrator Enablement Guide for detailed instructions on granting admin consent, including a quick one-click consent URL.

For more information, see Microsoft's User and Admin Consent Overview.

📋 Prerequisites

Before getting started, ensure you have Node.js (which includes NPM and NPX) installed:

You can verify your installation by running:

npm --version

💡 Why Node.js? WorkIQ uses NPX to run the MCP server. NPX is included automatically with NPM, which comes bundled with Node.js.

work-iq FAQ

Which apps does this work in?
It is built for GitHub Copilot and VS Code, and it can also run as a standalone tool that other AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini could connect to if their app supports the same connection method.
Do I need an account or an API key?
You do not need a separate API key, but you do need a Microsoft 365 work or school account, and the first time it is used, your organization's IT administrator has to approve access to company data.
Can I use this to check my calendar and upcoming meetings?
Yes — you can ask what is on your schedule today, tomorrow, or any day this week, and it reads directly from your calendar.
Can I use this to search through my email?
Yes — you can ask what a specific person said about a topic, and it looks through your inbox and summarizes the relevant messages.
How hard is it to set up?
Setup is a short copy-and-paste step: you add a small snippet to your app's settings, or click an install button in VS Code, then approve a one-time permission request from your IT administrator.
Will this work if I'm not an administrator on my company's Microsoft account?
Yes — once your administrator has approved access for the organization, any employee can use it without repeating that setup step.
Can it also see my Teams messages?
Yes — it can look through recent channel messages and summarize conversations without you needing to scroll through Teams yourself.
Is my data shared outside my company?
No — it only reads data from your own organization's Microsoft 365 account and does not send anything outside that connection.
